Emily
Edison, MS, RD
Owner
of Momentum Nutrition and Fitness in Seattle, Emily Edison is a recognized
professional in the area of exercise and nutrition. She offers nutrition
counseling at her Seattle-area office. Edison specializes in nutrition
for exercise, wellness, and the management of eating disorders. Her
practice includes teaching people how to eat for endurance, improve
vitality, and listen to their individual internal cues for eating. Emily is also the Sports Dietitian for the University of Washington Husky Athletic Department.
Emily
completed her undergraduate degree in nutrition from Washington
State University and her graduate degree in nutrition with a focus
on Sport Nutrition from Marywood University in Scranton PA. She
is a member of the American Dietetic Association and takes part
in ADA's practice groups for sports nutritionists (SCAN) and nutrition
entrepreneurs (NE).

Also an ACSM Certified Health Fitness Instructor and a member of
the American College of Sports Medicine, Edison is active in personal
training, coaching and helping people achieve a higher level of
fitness and a healthier lifestyle. Working with pre and post natal
women is one of Emily’s fitness specialties.
As an educator and lecturer, Emily presents complex nutrition principals in
a creative, straight forward manner. Her lecture experiences include
presentations for the Greater Seattle Dietetic Association, Weyerhaeuser
Corporation, high school athletic teams, University
of Washington Athletes, Students and Faculty, Cornish School for the Arts
and Girls Scouts of America. Edison’s work has
been featured in the Seattle Times, Jump Magazine, and Alaska Airlines
Magazine.
Sports and nutrition are personal as well as professional interests
of Emily’s. A former competitive figure skater, Emily now
stays active in-line skating, golfing, playing soccer, water skiing
and snowboarding. She is a gourmet cook with a passion for entertaining and is currently
writing a cookbook. Edison lives in Kenmore with her husband Scott and her fun loving dog,
Fletch.
